MLA ’17 Submissions due October 10

The 2017 National Program Committee seeks abstracts for contributed content that supports the theme, “Dream, Dare, Do.”

The call for submissions provides information on how to submit your abstract. Similar to last year, you will rank how you prefer to present your content: paper, poster, or lightning talk.

Also new are special content sessions. Groups—such as sections, chapters, special interest groups (SIGs), and others—are invited to submit proposals for engaging 1.5-hour-long sessions.

When submitting your structured abstract, please specify whether your abstract is a research abstract or a program description abstract:

  • Research abstracts report on designing, conducting, and analyzing a research project.

  • Program description abstracts describe the creation and improvement of products, programs, technologies, administrative practices, or services conducted by librarians and information professionals.

Please select carefully, as different criteria will be used to assess the two kinds of abstracts. All criteria for both kinds of abstracts are available in the Papers and Posters FAQ.

Abstracts and proposals must be submitted using the online contributed content submission form. Submissions are due October 10, 6:00 p.m., central time. Enter your submission early to avoid the last-minute rush and allow time for assistance, if needed.

For meeting information and FAQs, see the MLA ’17 website.
