Play Ball!

Seattle has a variety of sports teams and events for you to enjoy during your visit in May. The Seattle Mariners baseball team will be playing the Colorado Rockies on the evening of May 31st, the last day MLA annual meeting. The Mariners play at Safeco Field in downtown Seattle. And, if you really like to hear “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” during the 7th inning stretch, you can also travel south to Tacoma where their triple-A affiliate team, the Tacoma Rainiers will be playing Fresno on Thursday, May 25th and Friday, May 26th. Alternatively, the University of Washington Huskies baseball team has a 3-game home stand May 25th – 27th.

If soccer is more of your thing, there’s good news for you!  The Seattle Sounders Football Club will be playing the Portland Timbers on Saturday evening, May 27th.  Matches take place at Century Link Field at the south end of downtown Seattle.

Swish!  That’s the sound of a basketball going through the hoop.  Seattle hosts the WNBA team, the Seattle Storm.  They have two home games during the MLA 2017 annual meeting on Friday, May 26th and Sunday, May 28th.  The Storm plays at Key Arena at the Seattle Center.  The Seattle Monorail is fun way to get there from downtown.

Are you a runner (or even a walker)? There will be a Memorial Day Weekend Run on Saturday, May 27th at 10am as part of the Maguson Park Series.  Participants can choose a 5k, 10k, or 15k event.

As you can see, sports fans have a lot to choose from in the Emerald City!
