Poster and Paper Sessions

Have you been taking advantage of the learning opportunities offered by the papers and posters that are presented at MLA? These sessions are a wonderful way to learn about what your colleagues are working on and what’s “hot” right now. Posters are being exhibited in the back part of the main exhibit hall. Paper sessions are going on throughout the conference.

So much knowledge is being shared through these sessions. For me, these sessions often help to answer questions that I have been thinking about and sometimes they bring up new questions.   Either way, I always learn something new and they get me thinking. I have also found the papers and posters to be a fabulous way to find other librarians who share my interests.  These new connections could end up being collaborators, mentors, or life-long friends – who knows? What really matters is taking advantage of an opportunity to talk with like-minded librarians. Make sure you are part of the learning that these sessions offer!
