Lucky 13 Things You Cannot Forget to Pack

Here's my list of 13 lucky things that I'm packing for MLA'18:

  1. Yoga mat and comfortable clothes. Hospital Libraries Section is sponsoring free yoga Sunday morning at 7:30-8:30 in the Piedmont Room, International Tower, Atlanta Conference Center Level. Bianca Spicer, a local instructor will lead us. It’s a great way to get your mind and body ready for an exhilarating MLA'18.
  2. Your meeting schedule and goals to accomplish at the meeting.
  3. Business Cards to network and drop in the vendor fish bowls for prices. I won a TV one year.
  4. Camera to photograph your old and new friends, interesting posters, interesting PowerPoint slides, even though they are available online.
  5. Chargers for phone, iPad, laptop and camera.
  6. Rain Poncho or small umbrella. Weather forecast has showers every day.
  7. Cash and credit card. When not in use, put in the safe. Bring a check to purchase items, raffle tickets and giving in the MLA'18 Scholarship Booth.
  8. Business and casual clothes for 80 degree weather outside during the day and 60s in the evening. Maybe a sweater or blazer for air-conditioned hotel rooms.
  9. Your medications. Don’t forget the pills and whatever else you need.
  10. Extra pad, pen, and pencils for note-taking.
  11. Snacks that travel well.
  12. Photos of the family and whatever else you want to share.
  13. Needed passwords, phone numbers, email addresses, or street addresses of needed resources and people.
